Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 25, 2026

Pingaroo.dev runs diagnostics without accounts. This policy explains what limited data we log and how we safeguard it.

Data we collect

  • Analytics (optional): If you consent, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to record anonymous page views (no precise IP, no advertising identifiers). GA sets cookies in your browser. Without consent, analytics scripts stay disabled.
  • Request metadata: IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Logs roll every 7 days.
  • Diagnostic payloads: The URL or domain you submit plus the resulting JSON. We keep them in memory long enough to render your report and delete them within 24 hours.
  • Contact messages: If you email us, we store your message to reply and then archive it securely.

How we use data

  • Provide diagnostics you request and share PDF exports.
  • Detect spam and denial-of-service attempts.
  • Improve reliability by analyzing aggregate latency and error rates.
  • Measure product usage via GA4, but only after you accept the consent banner. We use GA to see which tools are popular and to prioritize improvements.

We do not sell data or run ads. Third-party processors (Mailgun for contact emails, Google Analytics for aggregated usage) only receive the minimum required information.

Your choices

  • Use the service without logging in. No persistent cookie is required.
  • Request deletion: email privacy@pingaroo.dev with any log timestamps or report IDs and we’ll purge them.
  • Revoke analytics consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. It clears our consent cookie and stops Google Analytics until you opt back in.
